Op 29.09.2023 keurde de ministerraad een voorontwerp van wet goed dat het gebruik van gestructureerde elektronische facturen verplicht voor b2b-transacties.
Alle btw-plichtigen moeten uiterlijk vanaf 01.01.2026gestructureerde elektronische facturen opmaken als het b2b-transacties betreft. Het volstaat vanaf dan niet langer om uw factuur bv. te scannen en als pdf-bestand aan een e-mail toe te voegen.
U moet daarentegen werken met een zogenaamde XML-factuur die voldoet aan de Europese norm (PEPPOL – ‘Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line’) en die aangeleverd wordt volgens de Peppol-afspraken. PEPPOL is een protocol en netwerk waarmee bedrijven en overheden in heel Europa facturen op een veilige manier real-time kunnen uitwisselen. 2026 is mogelijks veraf maar u checkt best vooraf of uw softwarepakket daaraan voldoet of kan voldoen.
